Democratic Presidential Candidates Participate in National Summit on Agriculture and Rural Life:

Five Democratic presidential candidates participated in the November 15th National Summit on Agriculture and Rural Life hosted by the League of Rural Voters and sponsored by KUNI.  They spoke during the afternoon plenary session of the Des Moines summit.

The League of Rural Voters and a host of other rural advocacy groups organized the summit to showcase new and necessary directions in rural economic policy. The Democratic presidential candidates were each be given a chance to address these critical issues facing rural voters and field a few questions from the audience. KUNI Des Moines bureau chief Jeneane Beck moderated. "Life in Iowa":

Earlier this year during Monday's Morning Edition, KUNI aired "Life in Iowa", exploring the extraordinary in ordinary Iowans' daily lives, such as interesting jobs, unusual products and changing times. The series was produced by Jean Florman with support from Humanities Iowa, and with assistance from Mark Grey, Associate Professor of Anthropology at UNI.
