Each semester KUNI/KHKE provides opportunities for students at the University of Northern Iowa to broaden their work experiences in clerical and broadcast-related fields. Most of these students are hired as part-time workers, both student assistants and work-study.

The stations also work with at least two interns each semester, one in marketing and one in the news department. Several of our news interns have won statewide awards and gone on to successful broadcasting careers.
