America Sings - 1 hour
Acclaimed American choral master Philip Brunelle leads his own VocalEssence ensemble from Minnesota and members of 17 different Washington, DC ensembles to present a kaleidoscopic history of choral music in the USA: from the colonial anthems of William Billings, to the African-American choral tradition personified by Harry Burleigh, to barbershop quartets, to the inspiring works of Leonard Bernstein. The featured concert from the 2006 Chorus America conference was recorded in the great acoustics of Strathmore Hall, the newest addition to the Capitol area's cultural life.

10:00 a.m.: The Splendid Table's Turkey Confidential 2006 - 2 hours
It's two hours of Thanksgiving morning triage for cooks across the nation. Lynne Rossetto Kasper, host of American Public Media's The Splendid Table, will be taking your calls in a live, two-hour broadcast when you need it most, on the biggest cooking day of the year. The lines open for your calls at 10:00 AM CST.

12:00 noon: We Gather Together - 1 hour
A one-hour Thanksgiving special of music and spoken-word featuring Garrison Keillor, Prudence Johnson, and the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers recorded live in concert at Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis, November 2005.

1:00 p.m.: Giving Thanks 2006 with John Birge - 2 hours
As Thanksgiving brings family together to share common blessings and a bountiful meal, host John Birge brings music and stories together in a thoughtful, contemporary reflection on the meaning of the holiday.

Christmas Eve - Sunday, December 24

9:00 a.m.: Christmas Around the Country - 1 hour
Holiday music-making from churches to concert halls with performances that express the best of the holiday season with host Fred Child.

10:00 a.m.: A Vermont Christmas with Counterpoint - 1 hour
Noah Adams is your host for a concert in Burlington, Vermont with the eleven member Counterpoint vocal ensemble lead by Robert De Cormier.

11:00 a.m.: Christmas with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra - 2 hours
This year’s concert features vocal soloists Nola Shepherd and Joel Valenti along with the WCFSO lead by conductor Jason Weinberger.

1:00 p.m.: Christmas with the Philadelphia Singers - 1 hour
Traditional and contemporary holiday favorites performed by the famed Philadelphia Singers.

2:00 p.m.: Thistle and Shamrock - 1 hour
Host Fiona Richie is your host for an hour of winter Celtic favorites.

3:00 p.m.: Ensemble Galilei and Neal Conan - 1 hour
Evocative music of the holiday season performed by the Celtic ensemble with readings of Ogden Nash, Mary Oliver, Jim Harrison hosted by Neal Conan.

4:00 p.m.: Christmas with the Morehouse and Spelman Glee Clubs - 1 hour
The choirs of Morehouse and Spelman colleges join to present an inspiring hour of spirituals and carols with host Korva Coleman.

5:00 p.m.: Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show - 1 hour
Clarence Fountain and his legendary gospel group perform before a live audience at Disney Hall with host Renee Montagne.

6:00 p.m.: Christmas with the World Café - 1 hour
Join host David Dye for this special one-hour Christmas special with Raul Midon, Jonatha Brooke and the Old Crowe Medicine Show.

7:00 p.m.: Christmas Eve with Bob Dorr - 3 hours
Bob Dorr continues a decades-old tradition of his favorite seasonal classics. Tune in and join the celebration!

Christmas Day - Monday, December 25

9:00 a.m.: St Olaf Christmas Festival 2006 - 2 hours
Hosted by Brian Newhouse, the broadcast includes hymns, carols, choral works and orchestral selections from the choirs of St Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

11:00 a.m.: Concordia College Christmas Concert - 1 hour
Four hundred students comprising five choirs perform seasonal favorites and new compositions along with the Concordia College Orchestra.

12:00 noon: Echoes of Christmas - 1 hour
Dale Warland draws from two decades of performances to present a special Christmas celebration from the Dale Warland Singers.

1:00 p.m.: Holiday Pops with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops - 2 hours
A Boston classic returns to NPR. Hear the world's most famous orchestra (and one of its most popular conductors!) on their home turf -- Symphony Hall in Boston -- performing music for the holidays under the leadership of charismatic conductor Keith Lockhart.
